Why Now?
Sonoma County stands as a beacon of environmental leadership. For over 35 years, SCCA and our partners have helped make this region a national model for climate-forward policy, conservation, and sustainable living. From SMART trains to clean power and open space protections, our green institutions are a direct result of grassroots action and public will.
But progress can fade without stewardship. That’s why we’re launching the Sonoma Green Deal, a public outreach campaign to remind, reinspire, and reinvigorate our community’s commitment to a green future.
What Is the Sonoma Green Deal?
The Sonoma Green Deal is a community campaign to:
Celebrate 35+ years of green leadership.
Educate the public on key climate and environmental policies that define Sonoma County.
Rebuild public support through direct engagement.
Protect and grow our environmental legacy.
We're reactivating our proven door-to-door canvass model, that once reached over 70,000 homes a year,to spread the message and engage residents face-to-face.

Why This Campaign Matters
For decades, our policies have been rooted in:
Smart growth with equity
Climate-friendly land use and transportation
Water conservation and quality
Natural resource protection
A vibrant public commons for community and climate resilience
Now, we face new challenges, climate urgency, housing pressure, and generational change. The Sonoma Green Deal ensures our community doesn’t forget the power we’ve had in shaping policy—and the responsibility we carry to move it forward.
